## Резюме : DARK PRINCE: THE TRUE STORY OF DRACULA starts off well enough, giving some background, before the story proceeds. However, there's a fine line between informative narration and full blown drowning in facts, no matter how trivial. Did Vlad "The Impaler" prefer boxers or briefs? Watch the movie...find out! Taste in cologne? Was he a Republican? Etc.

Generally speaking, DARK PRINCE is cast well. The locations, what little we see of them, seeing how most dialogue occurred inside, was adequate. Simply put, the static dialogue dooms this picture down to a talk-fest. The complete avoidance of action, suspense, plot twists and serious surprises gives this film the frenetic energy of a high school debate class.

DARK PRINCE is likely to bore teens and probably not please fans of Gothic Horror. The cast seems to be the saving grace. Rudolf Martin, as Vlad, seems very likeable, as well as earnest. Peter Weller is delightfully hammy as Father Stefan (mental note: must send industrial quantity of mustard for next shoot...) and Roger Daltry as the King of Hungary is a hoot. This sort of falls into the offbeat category of films that were probably more fun to make, than to watch.
